The Cochin Devaswom Board has introduced a new form of vazhipaadu called "Nithyatha" (daily vazhipaadu) in Chottanikkara Bhagavathy Temple for the large number of devotees of AMMA. According to this, a devotee can remit any amount he desires, as and when he desires to conduct a vazhipaadu regularly or on periodical intervals to the Devaswom Ledger Account allotted to him, and the Devaswom will conduct the vazhipaadu as per devotee's requests on daily / weekly / star wise / or on yearly basis and the prasadam is distributed to him. A token will be given to the devotee from the Devaswom office for getting the prasadam and prasadam will be given in the predetermined time to the devotee directly or to the person bringing the token, or else it will be distributed to the poor. A prior intimation will be sent to the devotee from the Devaswom before the amount in the account becomes inadequate and he can deposit the additional amount to the account for conducting the vazhipaadu without a break. This facility helps the devotees to get conducted the vazhipaadu according to their choice and get the prasadam without waiting in the long queue before the counter. Moreover, it is a way of serving the poor by giving them the vazhipaadu prasadam such as Appam, Ada, Vella Nivedyam etc. regularly or periodically.
